How to Use the Solver

   Type a guess you have already played

   Put in the word exactly as you played it. The solver needs to know what you tried before it can tell you what is left, so start with your first guess and work down.

   Click each tile to match your board

   Tiles start grey, meaning the letter is not in the word. Click one to change it to amber for a letter that is in the word but in the wrong place, and again for blue when it is in the right place. Click once more to go back to grey.

   Add every guess you have made

   Each extra row narrows the field considerably. Two guesses usually take thousands of words down to a handful, and three often leave a single answer standing.

   Play the word at the top

   Suggestions are ranked by how much each one narrows what is left, not by how common the word is. Every word suggested is one you could win with, so the top of the list is both the most informative guess and a possible answer.
