No. The streak counts consecutive days you played the daily puzzle. Unlimited and the archive neither build one nor break one.
Two things: which words you are allowed to guess, and which words are drawn for practice and for the kids pages. It does not change the shared daily answer, because that is chosen to be the same word in all three.
No, never. Words with a regional spelling twin are excluded from the daily pool entirely, so nobody loses a day because of the dictionary they set. That is a stronger fix than accepting both spellings, which still leaves one group typing a word that looks wrong to them.
To puzzle number one, and every one of them is free with no account. Playing an old puzzle does not affect your streak, and you cannot reach a future one however you construct the URL.
The general tools do. The Scrabble and Words With Friends finders use a Scrabble lexicon instead, because they promise the word is playable — and a general dictionary cannot back that claim.
