How to Play

Make words from the six letters
Four letters or more, using only the letters shown and only as many times as they appear. Type it and press enter — there is nothing to drag and nothing to click into place.

Find a six-letter word to move on
Every round has at least one. You can keep going for a better score once you have it, but that word is the one that opens the next round.

Longer words are worth far more
Four letters is 40 points, five is 80, six is 160. Two four-letter words are not worth one six-letter word, which is what makes hunting for the long one worth the time.

Shuffle When You Get Stuck
Seeing the same six letters in the same order stops being useful after a minute. Shuffling them is the oldest trick in this game and it genuinely works.

Text twist questions, answered
Why does it accept a word but not count it?
Because two lists are at work. The count is out of everyday words, so the target is achievable. A word that is valid but obscure is still accepted and still scores — telling you it is not a word would be a lie you could check.
Why is the minimum four letters and not three?
Three-letter combinations are mostly the dull part — abbreviations and oddities you would never think of. Starting at four makes the list shorter and every word on it one a person might actually find.
Is there a time limit?
No. This version is about finding the words rather than racing a clock, and nothing expires while you think.
Are the rounds always the same?
Yes — each has a number and never regenerates, so you can come back to one or send somebody the same puzzle you played.
What is the best way to find the six-letter word?
Look for a common ending first — ING, ERS, IES, EST — and see what the remaining letters make in front of it. Working backwards from the ending is far quicker than trying arrangements at random.
