How the Spelling Sheets Work

   Look, Cover, Write, Check

   The method schools have used for decades, laid out as a table. Read the word, cover it, write it in the next column, then uncover and check. Write it once more, and the last column asks for it in a sentence of your own.

   The Sentence Column Is the Point

   Copying a word twice proves you can copy. Using it in a sentence proves you know what it means, and it is the column that catches a child who has learned the shape of a word without the sense of it.

   Words for the Reading Age

   Eight words a sheet for five to seven, twelve for eight to ten, fourteen for eleven and up, drawn from the same dictionary the games use with a reading age on every entry.

   Twelve Sheets in Each Band

   No sheet repeats a word from another, so a term of spelling practice is thirty-six sheets that never double back.
